Shin Han Marker Blog Hop

Welcome to our Shin Han Marker Blog Hop!  We will be featuring one of our favorite new CLose To My Heart products - Shin Han Markers!  If you have come here from Brenda's blog at http://centralnyscrapper.blogspot.com, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog:  http://ifyoublingit.blogspot.com/p/stamp-of-month-blog-hop-list.html.

I used just 2 markers to create this cute little cupcake card.  The cupcake wrapper is colored with Leaf Green (Z2454) and the frosting is Barely Beige (Z2445).  The beauty of these markers is that each time a layer of ink is added, the color gets darker, allowing different shades from just one marker as demonstrated in the wrapper.

The cupcake is cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and stamped a coordinating stamp set that comes with the cartridge.  The stamping was done with versamark ink and then embossed with clear embossing.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is stamped with White Daisy ink and pink polka dot Washi Tape is added for a final touch.  These are all Close To My Heart products except for the pink button cherry which came from my sewing box.

These versatile markers are available at www.aprilnourse.ctmh.com.

October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We are featuring the Home For the Holidays stamp set. If you are here from Paige's blog then you are in the right place. The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s blog.

This is a really fun Christmas stamp set, but I wanted to show the versatility of the stamp set. To make this card I used Skylark Picture My Life cards along with Juniper and Sweet Leaf inks, green and blue epoxy bubbles and wood grain Washi tape (see below for the complete supply list).

My favorite surprise of this card is the top border. It's made using the candy cane stamp!

Oh, and did I mention that this stamp set coordinates with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge? You can see which stamps coordinate by the red outline around the image.

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the world! Your next stop is Dawn's blog.

Like always, this stamp set is only $5 with a qualifying order at www.aprilnourse.ctmh.com and it's only available through October 31st.

Supplies used:

Lagoon Ink

Sweet Leaf Ink

Liquid Glass

Picture My Life Skylark

Green & Blue Epoxy Bubbles

Green colored pencil

New Product Blog Hop

I'm so glad that you joined us for the New Product blog hop!  If you're coming from Dawn's blog at http://iamahappystamper.blogspot.com/2014/08/ctmh-new-product-blog-hop-for-fall-2014.html?m=1 then you're in the right place.  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog: http://ifyoublingit.blogspot.com/2014/07/the-close-to-my-heart-august-what-hoot.html

I created this fabulous family board using the new Red Magnetic Chalkboard (Z2006) and For Always Picture My Life cards (Z2022).  I laminated the cards so we could write, erase and rewrite on them and put a magnet on the back of each card so we can easily  rearrange them if needed.  For an added flourish, I added some flowers cut from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge and put magnets on those also.

Memory Box

When you're a crafter, everything has potential.  Like this box that my cell phone came in.  I put it aside because I knew that it would come in handy one day.  That day came last week when I turned it into a memory box.  The project took only an hour and I received lots of compliments on it.  I made it during my free crop at the library.

Materials:

  1. Cut cardstock just slightly smaller than the dimensions of the sides and top of the box.  The cardstock has a distressed look with a second generation stamp.
  2. Adhere the cardstock to the box with Liquid Glass.  Adhesive will work, but it won't hold as long as Liquid Glass.
  3. Sand all of the edges of the box to blend the cardstock into the box.  Sponge daub the edges with matching ink as desired.
  4. Distress the labels by creasing, then sponge daubing lightly along the creases and edges.
  5. Attach labels and embellishments with Liquid Glass.

Would you like some help creating your box?  Bring it to my free crop on July 18th or 25th and I will walk you through step-by-step.  You will also have access to my supplies for your crafting pleasure.

Celebrating 5 Years with Close To My Heart

2009 was a big year.  My husband left for Iraq and my daughters and I moved from California to Missouri to be near my mom.  In the midst of all of that, I signed up to be a Close To My Heart Independent Consultant.  It was sort of a birthday/Mother's Day gift to myself.  Though I love the papers, stamps and everything crafty that Close To My Heart offers, it became so much more.  Some of my closest friends are ladies I have met through my craft business.  Hospice, 4H, and our local library are just a few of the places I am able to share my paper-crafting skills.  I have also enjoyed the memories created with my children as we craft together.  With all of the fun products that Close To My Heart offers, I have created baby albums, wedding favors, and countless cards for a variety of events.  In my own family, we have documented the adoption of our son, our new home, several milestone birthdays, a mission trip to Taiwan, road trips and 20 years with my husband.  All in the last five years!

Will you join with me in celebrating my five year anniversary with Close To My Heart?  Now through June 30th, I will give you a free stamp set with your $50 order at www.aprilnourse.ctmh.com!  This is in addition to the Celebrate 30 promo and Stamp of the Month promos available all month.  Here's to another 5 years, and many more!
