100 Card Challenge Day 15

It's not often that I am so sick that it takes me completely out of the game, but that happened this week.  From Sunday night until last night, I slept with the exception of the few hours I drug myself to work.   My sweet kids made dinner and did my chores but they didn't get around to sending any cards for me.  It's time to catch up, so here we go...

Since I'm playing catch up, I'm also cheating a bit.  This is actually one of a set of cards I'm making for my grandpa to send our for birthdays using the Sonoma papers and Art Philosophy cartridge from Close To My Heart.  Whenever I make cards for him, I print a message and scripture on the inside so he only has to sign his name. He also requests that his cards be suitable for a man or woman and it is flat so he isn't charged extra postage.

One last thing... I want to remind you that there are only a few days left to get the May Stamp of the Month for only $5, so get yours soon!

100 Card Challenge Day 14

The card I am sharing today is one that I made for a baby shower.   The Lucy papers, stamps and rub on are from Close To My Heart.  I thought the sentiment was perfect for a new baby.
This was my first time using rub ons and it was so easy I will be using them a lot more in my paper crafting!

100 Card Challenge Day 13

Today we are celebrating our son's seventh birthday, his first birthday with us.  When asked what he wanted for his birthday, he said he wanted a party at church for his friends.  He wanted to have cake and ice cream, therefore he gets a cake card.

This card was made with the Fanfare papers from Close To My Heart.

100 Card Challenge Day 12

Today I am starting on thank you cards for our son's birthday party tomorrow.   This is one of the cards we have for sale at www.curlsandgrins.weebly.com.  My girls and I sell some of our creations to teach them some business skills.  With the proceeds, we donate some to charity, purchase homeschool materials, put some into savings and the kids each get some spending money.  If you are looking for something in particular, please message us.

100 Card Challenge Day 11

Today's card is for one of my daughters.  She is struggling this week with a wrong choice that she made this week.  I want to remind her that she is not defined by that choice.

This card was made by a wonderful friend using Close To My Heart papers, stamps and embellishments.

100 Card Challenge Day 10

Today's card is not going in the mail.  It will accompany a plate of goodies for our new neighbors.  We live in a duplex community where people are always moving in and out.  Our family has taken it upon ourselves to be the welcome wagon whenever we see a truck pull in to unload.

Head over to www.facebook.com/aprilctmh and tell me what kind of goodies you would want from the welcome wagon.  One commenter will get a welcome to the neighborhood card to share with your new neighbor!

This card was made by a fellow card-maker using Close To My Heart supplies.  All purchases from my website are currently going towards our adoption expenses.

100 Card Challenge Day 9

I am giving this card to my oldest daughter who is finishing 6th grade this week.  I am so proud of all that she has accomplished this year, but she is also learning the value of having fun.  She spends a good amount of time helping, teaching and being responsible which we appreciate as her parents.  This year we have spent some time reminding her to be a kid and do things just to have a good time.

You can find all of the supplies for this card at www.ctmh.com/aprilnourse.

100 Cards in 100 Days - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the 100 Card Challenge! Today my heart is heavy.  I found out that a good friend is pregnant, but she is also on bed rest due to complications.  I am sending a card to her to remind her that she is in our prayers.

If this is your first time at the 100 Card Challenge, please take a moment to check out the original post here.

100 Cards in 100 Days - Day 1

Welcome to day 1 of 100 Cards in 100 Days!  Today I am sending a card to my aunt for her birthday.  This card reminds me of a luncheon we went to together when I was in high school.  During the door prize drawing, I won a cake plate and she won a book.  I had no idea what I would do with a cake plate and she wasn’t interested in her book, so we switched prizes. We both left happy, but I still think of that cake plate often.

100 Cards in 100 Days

In the next 100 days, I will be celebrating many birthdays, anniversaries and graduations with family and friends.  There will also be thank you and get well cards to send.  Even if those cards were not on my list of things to do, there are always people who just need a card to let them know I am thinking of them.  Those cards are the easiest to forget about in the craziness of life.  With all of that in mind, I am setting a goal for myself to send (or give) 100 cards in 100 days.  Some of these will be made specifically for that person and event, but many of them will be from my stash of cards that I keep on hand for just such an occasion.  To keep myself accountable, I plan to post about each card for the next 100 days, including a picture of the card and a write up about the purpose of that card.

Would you consider joining me in my 100 Card Challenge? I will start on Monday, May 7th and continue for 100 days.  Feel free to start later or adjust the challenge as it fits your goals.  This isn’t about pressure, it’s about loving the people God put in our lives.  If you do join me, please comment below with your goal and also share it on my Facebook page.  On Monday, May 7th, I will choose 1 person from each group of comments to receive a card from me to help you get started on your goal.  I will also choose 2 comments each Monday throughout the challenge to receive cards from me to encourage you.

Also on Monday, be sure to grab the button for the 100 Card Challenge and share it on your blog.
