100 Card Challenge Day 8

Welcome to Day 8 of the 100 Card Challenge! This card is for a sweet girl who graduated from high school on Friday.

I used the Lucy papers, Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and other materials from Close To My Heart to create this card.  Using the Cricut is a quick way to add some pop to your cards!

100 Card Challenge Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of the 100 Card Challenge!  This card is for my cousin who is having a baby soon.  Notice the sentence for giggle - The baby's smile turned into a giggle. :)

I used the Lucy papers, Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and other materials from Close To My Heart to create this card.  I love how the stamps cordinate with the die cut!

As for my creation, I couldn't make just one and they didn't end up with as much green as I planned but that's OK, because I'm the birthday girl. :)  I LOVE the Sophia Paper Packet from Close to my Heart because it's full of greens and pinks, so I started with that.  

For my card, I used Pear Cardstock and Sophia papers. The flowers across the top and side (stamped in Hollyhock ink) are from the Around the Block stamp set.  The cupcakes platter (Pear ink) and sentiment (Hollyhock ink) are from the Piece of Cake stamp set.  All are colored in with colored pencils.  Liquid glass was applied to the cupcake platter and papers. The lower left corner is embellished with pink buttons.  The papers are brushed with Hollyhock and Pear inks.  All materials for the card are from Close to my Heart.

For the cake box, I again used the Sophia papers from Close to my Heart.  The box is made of White Daisy card stock covered with Sophia B&T paper.  It is tied closed with pink ribbon. Some flowers are from Iced Got Flowers and some are stamped from the Sophia stamp set (only available with the Sophia Workshop on the Go).  Each flower has a brad, sparkle, or eyelet in the center.  The sparkles are actually gems I found to bling cell phones.  The backs are adhesive and I love them!  Lastly, there is green and pink ribbon under the flowers.

Friday Night Scrappers

Friday Night Scrappers is moving to the 3rd Friday of each month.  As always, you may bring your own projects to work on or create a layout or cards using the featured Workshop on the Go.  On March 18th, we will be using the Miracle Workshop on the Go.  You have 2 choices for ordering the workshop on the go:

1. Order the Miracle Workshop on the Go Kit that includes the Miracle Level 2 Paper Pack, Miracle Stamp Set and Kraft Borders.

Wings Makeover

It's always fun and easy to work within the parameters of a given paper pack, using the colors, stamps, and papers that some creative paper crafter has so carefully coordinated.  Sometimes it's fun to think outside the box, or in this case, the given colors and stamps.  These cards were all made using the Wings papers but I mixed it up with a variety of stamps and inks.

Where's Opie?

For one wonderful year, I lived in Mayberry.  Really. I moved from a big town in California that felt like a small town until I moved to Mayberry.  You wouldn’t find it on a map because it goes by a different name, but spend five minutes there and you know where you are.  The businesses consist of one restaurant (only open on the weekends), one gas station, a post office, a bank and city hall. The buildings are in serious disrepair and the population is 300 (counting the cemetery population).  Most humorous, the police officer works 30 hours per month.  No typo!  What does this have to do with scrapbooking?  A lot.  On February 1^st, Close to my Heart is releasing a new paper kit named Mayberry.  These papers give you that feeling of being in a comfortable little town where you can sit on the porch and sip sweet tea.  It’s fun and happy and waiting to come to your town!  Make sure you stop here to order Mayberry and get your piece of the pie!  Make sure to order the coordinating inks too (Cocoa, Honey, Olive, and Smoothie).
