Shin Han Marker Blog Hop

Welcome to our Shin Han Marker Blog Hop!  We will be featuring one of our favorite new CLose To My Heart products - Shin Han Markers!  If you have come here from Brenda's blog at http://centralnyscrapper.blogspot.com, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog:  http://ifyoublingit.blogspot.com/p/stamp-of-month-blog-hop-list.html.

I used just 2 markers to create this cute little cupcake card.  The cupcake wrapper is colored with Leaf Green (Z2454) and the frosting is Barely Beige (Z2445).  The beauty of these markers is that each time a layer of ink is added, the color gets darker, allowing different shades from just one marker as demonstrated in the wrapper.

The cupcake is cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and stamped a coordinating stamp set that comes with the cartridge.  The stamping was done with versamark ink and then embossed with clear embossing.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is stamped with White Daisy ink and pink polka dot Washi Tape is added for a final touch.  These are all Close To My Heart products except for the pink button cherry which came from my sewing box.

These versatile markers are available at www.aprilnourse.ctmh.com.

Now "Hop" on over to Jaime's Blog at http://jaimellewellyn.blogspot.com to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas!

October's My Cricut Craft Room's Blog Hop

October's My Cricut Craft Room's Blog Hop

Welcome!  If you are here from http://queenbeepapercrafts.blogspot.com/ then you are in the right place!  If you'd like to start at the beginning, head to http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com

Welcome to My Cricut Craft Room's October's Blog Hop
Collectively the design team and guest designers have made some amazing and special projects to share with you... over 60 projects are on this hop, but it is in less than 20 stops. .

My first project is a simple photo holder.   The frame was made using the Artiste cartridge and the embellishments were cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I attached a magnet on the back for hanging.

My second project is a baby album.  Everything in the album was cut using one key on the Artbooking cartridge.  The papers and coordinating Stickease are from the Babycakes collection by Close To My Heart.

All of these cartridges and supplies are available at www.aprilnourse.ctmh.com.  A portion of every sale at my site this weekend will be donated to Operation Write Home, a non-profit organization that sends handmade cards to troops overseas.

Thank you for passing through!

100 Card Challenge Day 15

It's not often that I am so sick that it takes me completely out of the game, but that happened this week.  From Sunday night until last night, I slept with the exception of the few hours I drug myself to work.   My sweet kids made dinner and did my chores but they didn't get around to sending any cards for me.  It's time to catch up, so here we go...

Since I'm playing catch up, I'm also cheating a bit.  This is actually one of a set of cards I'm making for my grandpa to send our for birthdays using the Sonoma papers and Art Philosophy cartridge from Close To My Heart.  Whenever I make cards for him, I print a message and scripture on the inside so he only has to sign his name. He also requests that his cards be suitable for a man or woman and it is flat so he isn't charged extra postage.

One last thing... I want to remind you that there are only a few days left to get the May Stamp of the Month for only $5, so get yours soon!

Cruisin' with Creativity

It has been longer than I'd like to admit since I've opened my paper cabinet.  Taxes, children and other commitments have called me away, but today I opened those doors.  Inside my cabinet, I found some paper pieces from my friend Jen and some inspiration over at her blog Jen's Jewel Box.   Since my creative juices have dried up, I decided these pieces would give me a good jump start.

This 6x6 card is made using the Cruisin' papers from Close To My Heart.  The flowers were cut from Juniper cardstock using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  They were then sanded and curled.  The centers of the flowers are made with button brads.  The sentiment is from the March Stamp of the Month but can be changed to just about anything with this versatile pattern color scheme.

What I Love About Fall/Halloween Blog Hop Day 1

Welcome to the What I Love About Fall/Halloween  Blog Hop.  This hop is scheduled from Oct. 7 at 8:00 am through Oct.8 at 11:00 pm (central time).

If you just happened to come to this blog, you can start at the beginning withj Lisa Peters- http://handmmadewithlove-lisa.blogspot.com/.  If you just came from (name of person before you in the lineup)   blog, then you are in the right spot.

We're so excited to be doing this hop and we have a fabulous lineup with some very talented ladies.  There will be lots of fun projects, along with some great blog candy, and a great grand prize for this hop.

The hop is a 2 day hop so you will have plenty of time to make it through the whole hop lineup twice.  Check out each blog and see what blog candy you can win at the individual stops.  Please come back both days to see great projects.

Here is the complete lineup:

To be eligible for the grand prize, you must visit each blog and leave a comment. You also MUST visit Lisa's blog and leave a comment for the day and also become a follower at "Scrapping With Lisa" and her facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Scrapping-with-Lisa/130882060268842.  Please let her know if you don't do facebook and she won't count that against you for the blog candy.  Now for the blog candy, I bet you are wondering what it could be.   It will be a grab bag full of goodies!

I would like to share with you our family's tree of thanks.  This has been an annual family tradition for nine years, since our oldest child was two.  We have done three-dimensional trees in the past and placed them on the Thanksgiving table, but this year it is a scrapbook page so we can add it to our family's scrapbook easily.

To create our tree and leaves, I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge (my favorite!).  The clouds in the background are made with silver embossing powder and liquid applique to give the dimension.  The year is added with Cork Alphabets.  All products are from Close to my Heart.
This isn't a perfectly executed page, but our kids always look back to our thankful trees and remember what life was like at that moment.

All purchases made from my Close to my Heart page support the adoption of Guan Guan.  You can read more about his story at www.mamacurls.com

Your next stop is Jamie at http://myamusinglife.blogspot.com.
Have a great day and please stop back tomorrow for another great project.
